Moises Caicedo has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea for a while now, but the Blues are yet to submit an 'acceptable offer'
Brighton technical director David Weir has revealed that the Seagulls are yet to receive an 'acceptable offer' for Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to further bolster his midfield.
However, if the Blues want Caicedo to feature against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon then they must be prepared to significantly improve their fourth offer. Especially after the Brighton technical director aimed a sly dig Chelsea for their 'unacceptable offers'.
"It’s pretty clear on our side, we give player opportunities and we play a part in their journey," Weir told Sky Sports. "At some stage players want to leave or may leave but it’s got to work for everyone. We are very honest and upfront on that.
"Players sign contracts and to respect them and they do. There has to be an agreement on all parties and then there can be a transfer. We’ve not had acceptable offers (for Moises Caicedo). He’s our player. He’s contracted with us for a number of years. We’re also realistic if things change, we’ll look into that."
"With a Premier League season just a week away it makes no sense to risk him today. We’re looking forward to Moises starting the season with us, he’s a Brighton player under a long-term contract. He’s probably one of the most exciting young midfield players in the world at the moment and we’re delighted to have him."

Brighton is a criminal club. They lied to the kid to extend his contract now they don't want to release him. If Chelsea ever purchase from Brighton again l will sue Todd to the Hague.

prefer we pay 90m/100m for him and secure the dm spot for more than a decade(he's just 21)....than buy an alternative that might fail and still spend big again in the next transfer window for the same dm spot.

Not worth it. 80m at most and that's a stretch. Chelsea should look for cheaper alternatives. Brighton are being salty with us because we didn't let them take Colwill.

Chelsea has signed Caicedo already, they're just waiting for the appropriate time to make it official. Not even Brighton can stop them.
