Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer and they have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Goncalo Ramos

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos and club captain Bruno Fernandes believes he would be a success at Old Trafford. United are looking strengthen their squad this summer as they look to bounce back from their worst ever Premier League campaign.

Goals were a particular problem for Ruben Amorim's side, with strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee managing just seven league goals between. United have already announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, while they are also in talks with Brentford over a move for Bryan Mbeumo.

And according to the Daily Mail, United have also been offered the chance to sign Ramos after missing out on Liam Delap. Ramos has largely been used off the bench by PSG this season, with Ousmane Dembele transformed into a centre-forward by Luis Enrique.

The report states that PSG view Ramos as surplus to requirements and that he 'appeals to United's hierarchy' as he is just 23-years-old. And Fernandes, who is teammates with Ramos for Portugal, believes the striker is well-suited to English football.

"Goncalo has all the conditions to play in the Premier League," Fernandes said back in 2023. "He is very intense, presses very well and is very good in the area. Physically he is strong, he is still young and will get better.

"If you continue to work as you have done, I think you have the potential to be one of the best spearheads in the world, but he still needs to go to a more competitive league to demonstrate it. Here the best always work, be it Goncalo or another player.

"I think he has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say in the Premier League I also say Manchester United, but it's not in my hands yet to be a sports director. When I am, I will make these decisions."

The news comes after Fernandes announced that he plans to stay at United after deciding to reject a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League. Al-Hilal were ready to pay United £100m and hand Fernandes a three-year deal worth £700,000-a-week.

However, the midfielder ultimately decided against the move after holding talks with his family. "I spoke with my family to understand if that was what I wanted for my future," Fernandes revealed.

"It was actually my wife who asked me — I never said yes or no. She put my professional priorities ahead of everything else. It would have been an easy move. I had Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo there, two people I have a great friendship with.

"But I want to stay at the highest level, play in big competitions, because I still feel capable. I want to keep being happy, I'm still very passionate about this sport, and I'm happy with my decision."
