Bruno Fernandes has admitted he was 'upset' after Manchester United's brilliant performance in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Liverpool as the club captain questioned why the team don't produce the same performance on a consistent basis.
United travelled to Anfield under the widely-believed expectation that it could be another dismantling by the Premier League leaders, but instead produced arguably their best performance of the season.
Goals from Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo either side of Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah's strikes sealed a point for the visitors with Bruno Fernandes instrumental in each of United's goals.
However, despite the feelgood factor in the immediate aftermath of the match, United remain in the bottom half of the table and only climb above West Ham into 13th place on goal difference.
Fernandes appears to finally be rediscovering his best form under Amorim's guidance but was frustrated at full-time as he demanded United demonstrate consistency by repeating the type of performance that almost saw them claim a late win against Liverpool.
'We've been criticised fairly, we lost too many points. Even today we can't be happy with the draw,' Fernandes told Sky Sports.
'I think it's a really good result, we could have even won the game at the end. It's a fair result. I'm upset because if we show this against Liverpool why can't we do this every week?
'Finally I did a proper performance overall. We need much more from ourselves to get more from this season.
'It's been here but it's not come until today's game. Now we have an FA Cup game against Arsenal that's going to be really tough again. We want to be in that final again. I will probably be more worried about Southampton after this performance,' he added.
United arguably had the better chances throughout 90 minutes against Liverpool with Harry Maguire firing a golden scoring opportunity over the bar with the final kick of the game, although there were question marks over whether he was offside.
Despite his miss, it was the most complete showing of Amorim's reign so far and Fernandes tried to rally his team-mates by demanding more as the club look to climb away from the relegation zone.
'I think you can always do more. We know how tough it is to play against Liverpool. Gravenberch is one of the best in the league,' continued Fernandes.
'Today was about putting real effort onto the game, playing with passion. You have the tactics but we need to put effort in.
'We can't stop here. We have to put this frustration into the next games. This has to be our level. We have to do it every week.'
United and Fernandes will now have a chance to show whether their point at Anfield was a one-off or if it's a sign of things to come when they travel to face Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

i swear, i noticed something about Manchester United, if they want they can play good football, but if they don't it's clear, imagine man united playing Liverpool level to everytime they face, am sure they would get the epl trophy, no i get it's the players, they're lazy and just play good match when they feel like
