Busquets: Spain have been the best side in the group

The Barcelona player spoke after Spain were beaten 3-2 by Croatia, leaving their fate depending on the outcome of the England - Croatia match.

Sergio Busquests spoke to TV station TDP after Spain’s 3-2 away defeat to Croatia in the Nations League, their second loss in a row under Luis Enrique.

It’s a shame they scored [at the end], although a draw wasn’t much use to us. It wasn’t to be.

Thoughts on the match?

They started very strongly, we had a few problems in the first half, in the opening minutes. In the second half they dropped their level physically and we had a lot of chances, above all in the six yard box.

Unfair?

We deserved more. We deserved to take the lead, but for one reason or another it wasn’t to be and now we need to hope that England and Croatia draw on Sunday, because it’s not in our hands.

Tough group?

It was a very tough group, with strong teams, who had performed well at the World Cup. We’ve been the best side in the group, but occasional errors have cost us.
