Camavinga meets Ancelotti and trains with Real Madrid squad

It seemed to happen quite late and almost came as a low-key surprise, but Real Madrid's capture of Eduardo Camavinga could prove one of the best pieces of business done this past summer, and the French midfielder has already begun training with his new teammates.

After arriving in Madrid on Tuesday, coming straight from France's under-21 camp, the former Rennes player has glided through his medical, met Carlo Ancelotti and now trained in Real Madrid's colours for the first time.

Although many of his new teammates remain away on international duty, the 18-year-old was able to meet those who were at Valdebebas on Wednesday, where he joined them for gym work before heading out onto the training pitch.

After training, for Camavinga, who has already been capped at senior level by France, it was time to dress up and pose for the customary photos with his new No.25 jersey and club president Florentino Perez.

Los Blancos host Celta Vigo on Sunday, which could be the Real Madrid fans' first chance to get a glimpse of this exciting young player on the field for the first time as a Real Madrid player.

Camavinga, who was born in Angola and raised in France, has signed a six-year contract, which will keep him at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu until at least 2027. Real Madrid signed him from Rennes on deadline day for a fee of 31 million euros.
