Can Klopp continue the trend? All five recent Germany coaches won their debuts

In the first round of the UEFA Nations League, Germany will face the Netherlands away, with Klopp making his debut as head coach of the German national team.

Statistics show that the past five German national team head coaches – Nagelsmann, Flick, Löw, Klinsmann, and Völler – all won their national team debuts. Among the twelve German national team head coaches, only two have suffered a loss in their debut: Beckenbauer lost 1-3 to Argentina in 1984, and Ribbeck lost 0-1 to Turkey in 1998.

As a club coach, Klopp has an impressive debut record, with two wins and one draw in his first matches at Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool.
