Former AC Milan coach Fabio Capello was full of praise for Pio Esposito after Inter Milan's win at Ajax.
Esposito started alongside Marcus Thuram as Inter won 2-0 for their opening Champions League game of the season.
Capello said of the young striker afterwards: "I don't know him well, I've seen him play a few times, but the way he moved in symbiosis with Thuram is beautiful. It means he's intelligent, he knows how to see the game, he knows how to position himself. It means a lot.
"The best thing about this player is his ball control. He's fantastic, physically capable of holding onto the Champions League. Playing with this quality has impressed me.
"Another great thing he has is his vision: when he needs to keep the ball, he keeps it, when he needs to pass it, he passes it. He's a player who, if you talk about (Edin) Dzeko, I can compare him in terms of intelligence. He said he's working on increasing his pace: I hope he succeeds, because it's not very easy. I hope he can help the national team; he can combine well with both (Moise) Kean and (Mateo) Retegui."
