Carragher warned that if Manchester United does not quickly adjust its tactical system, Tielemans's place in the first team "will not last long."
Manchester United managed only 6 points from their first six Premier League games. On Saturday, playing at home against Tottenham, the team was fortunate to secure a draw. Carrick's side was completely dominated by their opponents from the opening whistle, and their first-half performance was very poor.
The midfield partnership of Tielemans and his teammates has become the manager's preferred pairing, but legends are concerned that this combination lacks dynamism and struggles to cope with the intensity of the Premier League.
During the summer transfer window, Tielemans moved to Manchester United from Aston Villa for 35 million pounds. Malick Tillman and Baleba also joined at the same time from PSV and Brighton, respectively.
However, Carragher believes that Manchester United's lack of intensity and inability to maintain a compact formation will continue to put Tielemans in a difficult position.
Carragher stated in an interview with Sky Sports: "Why did Tielemans perform so well at Aston Villa but struggle after coming to Manchester United?"
"Emery's team demands an almost strict training regimen every day. Every time I watch Villa play, the team's formation is compact and their overall cohesion is very strong.
"For a player like Tielemans, whose physical mobility is not outstanding, it is extremely important for the entire team to remain highly compact. But Manchester United simply cannot do that right now."
"Liverpool also encountered a similar problem with Mac Allister last season. Mac Allister's form has improved this season precisely because the team's formation is more compact and its overall cohesion is stronger. Manchester United must also achieve this; otherwise, Tielemans's position will not be secure, and he will lose his starting spot."

It is perplexing that players of mediocre talent, such as Jamie Carragher during his playing career, often attract significant attention as pundits. His commentary is particularly noteworthy, especially considering his average level as a player at Liverpool.
