Yannick Carrasco 'has been offered to Arsenal' as the Belgian looks to cut short his time at Chinese side Dalian Yifang.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is in the market for reinforcements in wide areas but with a limited transfer budget available in January, it is believed Carrasco would have to take a pay-cut to get the move over the line.

According to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur, Carrasco, who moved to China from Atletico Madrid, is ready to end his stint in Asia and return to the top level of European football.

At 25, many will feel Carrasco still has plenty to offer at the highest level and that a move to Asia came far too early in his career.

Arsenal have favoured wing-backs under Emery but in attacking areas there has been an over-reliance on the likes of Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Emery has made no secret of his desire to bolster his side in January as he looks to ensure the Gunners earn one of the coveted top four spots come the end of the season.

Barcelona's Denis Suarez, who worked with Emery at Sevilla, is believed to be closing in on a move and Carrasco could follow quickly.
