Michael Carrick reiterated his desire to help Manchester United fight for every available trophy in his first full season in charge, saying the team are ready to kick on.
Carrick was appointed as United's permanent head coach in May and signed a two-year contract at Old Trafford following a successful temporary tenure in 2025-26.
He took over following Ruben Amorim's dismissal in January and went on to lead the club to a third-place finish in the Premier League and a spot in the Champions League.
The 44-year-old has won 12 of his 17 games in charge across all competitions (D3 L2). Since his appointment, no team in the top-flight won more games (12) and scored more goals (33) than the Red Devils under Carrick's tutelage.
United have not won a major trophy since their FA Cup success in 2023-24 under Erik ten Hag, though Carrick said silverware is a possibility if his team can stay consistent.
In a column for the club's official yearbook, Carrick wrote: "We know that we need to keep improving. We have a huge responsibility here to win and play exciting football.
"That never changes, and we should always be striving to compete for the biggest trophies. There are steps to take, but we are in a good place to take them.
"We've got a fantastic group of players, and we believe they have the required standards of talent, commitment and determination to be successful here.
"They love being at the club, and we can see how badly they want it; that gives us the confidence to know we're really building something and moving in the right direction.
"We know we've got what it takes to beat the best teams in this league.
"Now it's about doing that over a full Premier League campaign, while also fighting for every trophy available to us.
"I cannot wait to lead the group forward next season and for those special European nights to return to Old Trafford.
"We are ready to kick on and give you more of the great moments that United are all about."
United have yet to make any additions to their squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, but are believed to be closing in on signing Atalanta and Brazil midfielder Ederson.
Brighton's Carlos Baleba, West Ham's Crysencio Summerville and Chelsea's Andrey Santos have all been linked with a move to United this summer.
The Red Devils' first game of the Premier League season sees them take on newly promoted Hull City on August 22, before they return to Old Trafford eight days later to face Ipswich Town.

sign two more very strong midfielders, please. then the rest of the position must wait next season. to the front line is fine for now. we have Doku, Cuhna , Rashford (left wings) to the front Rashford, Mbuemo, and Sesko . right wing Amad and Mbuemo. maybe to buy a left back defender if the budget allows it. why does Manchester United Board look like they don't know what to do. bring in two strong midfielders, then we will be okay 👍

I wish he does, What carrick needs at this point in time is assessing his players and know the areas best suit his players. Dorgu, rashford and Cunha at the left-wing, Sesko, Mbeumo, Cunha and rashford at the front and Mbeumo, Amad and rashford at the right-wing.

Dont worry we have a very good academy. no need to buy players at an inflated price and pay them hefty salaries which will disrupt the harmony among players. so ineos is on the rigth track.
