Movistar+ cameras captured Dani Carvajal’s furious reaction, as he stood behind the Real Madrid bench alongside the other non-squad players, visibly upset with the decisions made by referee De Burgos Bengoetxea.

According to footage recorded by Movistar+, the player — currently sidelined due to injury — confronted the referee.

Fortunately, the referee’s report did not mention the incident, and there appears to be no formal complaint or action initiated by the disciplinary judge. 

Had it been included, Carvajal could have faced a suspension of four matches, although he would not have served it this season due to his injury.

The applicable regulation classifies this as a serious offense, carrying an immediate suspension of four to twelve matches: 

“Insulting, offending, or addressing the main referee, assistant referees, fourth official, executives, or sports authorities in insulting or offensive terms or attitudes, unless classified as a more serious offense, shall be sanctioned with a suspension ranging from four to twelve matches.”
