The FC Porto stopper posted a tweet which many see as a veiled attack on the Portuguese coach after Mourinho's Manchester United lost again.
The ongoing tension between Iker Casillas and Jose Mourinho saw another episode today with Twitter being the final stage as the wrangle started off with the goalkeeper admitting in an interview with Jorge Valdano that he wished he'd handled things differently with the coach at Real Madrid. "If I could go back, I think I'd have taken the bull by the horns and taken on Mourinho".
A reply from Mourinho was picked up in Portuguese sports daily, Récord: "This interview has all the hallmarks of someone at the end of their career. As to what he said about taking me on, that's not true, he did so, but behind my back".
After Manchester United lost away to Liverpool, Casillas took to Twitter with a veiled message aimed at the coach from Setubal: "According to a Portuguese daily, someone said that a 37-year-old player like me is at the end of his career. I totally agree! My question to this publication is that in the case of a coach, when , and at what moment to they see that they're no longer capbale of coaching a team?"

I said this a long time ago and a lot of fans attacked me for criticizing Mourinho. We shouldn't be surprised at where we are on the table, it is very simple. De gea single handedly kept where we were last season, unfortunately he has not been able to repeat that form, hence, it reflects on the table. Our style of play this season is not different from how we have been playing since the arrival of Mourinho, the different has always been our De gea with his breathtaking saves, he practically win matches for us. There is no fluidity and rhythm in Mourinho's style of play. We rarely score goals on open play and on final third. He plays kick and follow style of football and then the players bully upfront and scramble a goal. He is talking about centre back, meanwhile he was given money I th summer, instead he went to buy Fred and keeps him the bench. Is the problem just about defenders when his style of play does not show transition both defensively and offensively. He believes in buying known names and still does not know how to use them. Football is far from individual talents anymore, football has gone scientific and it takes a very sound coach to bring out the best from the players and not playing them out of positions and castigating them in public.

pls let Mourinho go and join Arsen winger.... before he turns all our players into bad markets by reducing their values in the transfer market... He is no longer the SPECIAL ONE but the FINISHED ONE... I Think someone has to show him the exit door and escort him out finally...

I was totally behind JM, but the coach we knew with that winning spirit or hunger for silverware is no more. I think JM should leave on an agreement with the board on a settlement because United is going downhill by each game. The players DO NOT WANT to play for him which makes the team look like an average championship team & that's unacceptable from the United we love. His hunger & charisma is no more

he didn't run out of ideas, he doesn't have good players... lingard that can't control ball to his feet, matic that is not mobile, young that clears ball anywhere away from his area, the back four that can't build up play, not to talk of them joining the attack...manU has no players that worth the team, they are all collecting wages for nothing and the useless Woodward is in charge of recruitment...the whole team needs to be replaced with sensible players, not with these sets of boys that cannot play 5 passes together will any coach achieve anything

Soon the story of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United will be a History. We are busy blaming him for the poor display of the club. Yes, he may be sacked, long gone and forgotten thinking that this will end Manchester United's struggles in the way they play. A new Manager may be brought in but if the misunderstandings that exist between the board and Mourinho will still continue even with the new Manager, then I see no reason for change. Footbàll can be related to one's life: there are always good times and bad times. People should support that someone even when things are hard. Why did the club offer Jose a new contract and yet refuse to give funds that will strengthen the squad? Finishing second in the 2017/18 season was a big achievement, but with such a gap between the first and second team meant there were still problems that needed to be addressed in the team. How about Manchester City? They finished first in a record breaking style but they had to buy some new players to add on the already strong squad. When pep arrived in his first season, he bought players but City went trophless that season. The board didn't mistrust him, they supported him financially and that paid. That is the example United should take, otherwise Manchester United will spend the entire decades or two changing managers without any promising consistency. Let Jose Mourinho go, Real Madrid will get him. Then we'll see the real problem between Mourinho and the Manchester United Board. In good times or bad times, I will still be behind Manchester United and Jose Mourinho. He is still part of the United Family.

I agree with iker time for mou to go he has no imagination can't get man u starting 11 right at no time always critising the players and then people wonder why Manchester United is playing like rubbish compared to last season. It's very clear to me none the players have no confidence at all, where was the midfield 3 he selected against Liverpool ??? I mean simple passes the players can't get done but mou thinks buying a cb will solve his problems but he fails to realise he is the mf problem no kind of imagination,no kind of attacking flair at all. All he wants players to do is defend get him out now and put Carrick as interim coach and give the youngsters from the academy a crack in the prem MOU is at the end of his coaching career.

I think i totally go with what Roy Keane said on Sky Sports. The United We know now has no identity or character close to that of the 90s and 2000s. Let's forget that United had spent millions and just look at their team compare to the top 4 teams. they look like a regular premier league with a deadbeat mentality. Sack Moùrinho or not, something needs to done. Give this team to any other coach, sooner or later, you'll experience similar problems. these players don't have United spirit in them. May be the board should have thought things through before they naively gave Mou an extension and then decided not to play to his tune. was the extension necessary? Hell No! Now they have to shell out a fortune to have him sacked.
