Barcelona and Manchester City's negotiations regarding Rodri are ongoing. Just a week ago, Barcelona secured the midfielder's agreement to join for the next four seasons, but the agreement with Manchester City has not yet been finalized. However, both sides are expected to reach an agreement in the short term.
As Ara previously reported, Barcelona's transfer fee ceiling is 65 million euros, including 55 million euros in fixed fees and 10 million euros in variable fees. But on the Manchester side, especially the Manchester City management, they are still demanding at least 70 million euros, and most of that must be in fixed fees. Therefore, Barcelona still needs to further increase its offer.
Both sides will continue negotiations in the coming hours and hope to reach an agreement. Meanwhile, Rodri is expected to return to Manchester City training tomorrow local time. He will be arranged by the new head coach Maresca, but due to recovering from back surgery, he cannot participate in all training. Rodri's contract with Manchester City will expire on June 30 next year and will not be renewed, so this summer is Manchester City's last chance to get transfer revenue from him.

A lot of clubs have a been taking advantage of our desperation in recent years, so we need to negotiate well this time to show others team we are no more desperate and with that next summer will be much easier, see what Man United is doing currently before they buy so high and those players flops but since last summer their buys have been doing extremely fine and this summer instead of buying a player for 100M they got two mad and crazy midfielder

People don't understand how market prices work. If Barca can 55m for Ferran Torres who has only one year contract, how would they think to get Rodri at the price? Rodri is currently the best player in the world. For Man City releasing Rodri isn't a problem, but the problem is how to replace him. For Rodri, he turned down the Madrid offer for Barca, if Barca now backs out, he will consider them when he is free...and for the current market price 70m is not high for the likes of Rodri.
