Cabral gets on the end of Boufal's corner and his header is saved by Cillesse, but the goalkeeper can only push it back into Araujo's path and he reacts quickest to fire the ball into the back of the net from close range. The referee is given the call by VAR and he lets the players on the field know that Araujo was offside much to the frustration of the Celta fans and players.

After checking VAR, the referee points to the spot and Celta have a chance to double their lead. It struck Wague from close range but it was judged that the handball was intentional. Aspas' run-up to the spot was calm and he sent Cillessen the wrong way as he struck his penalty into the left side of the net.

Key takeaways: 1) Alena and Riqui Puig were not playing at the positions they usually play.. Riqui likes the LCM position and Alena prefers the RCM one. Due to some reason Valverde chose to make them play in difficult positions.. my gues is to check their versatility because when you play with great players your preferred positions don’t matter.. you just play wherever there is a place in the team. 2) Todibo, Wague and Umtiti (in the final minutes) were great. KPB, Vermaelen, Murillo, Collado and (sadly) Malcom weren’t as much. 3) Dembele is injured yet again.. which is a dangerous sign because it’s happened the third time this season. Also, this injury is far more serious for the season because key games are just ahead. 4) Valverde deserves credit for whatever he’s been doing this season but a lot of that comes due to Messi.. without Messi in his team.. the players struggle to create anything.. no chances at all.. this is not acceptable.. today there wasn’t even a single shot taken on target and I blame the coach.. with such a youthful side at play.. he should be organizing and tactically setting them up and showing them the right way to create and score.. yet again we see that he’s only a defensive minded coach and can never make his players reach their respective potentials.

I was never looking for win from this man but not a 2-0 defeat eother. Wague was good but Todibo is my MOTM. He is so full composure for a 19 year old who has not played regular first team football. As he came off they scored and our defence just when down. I am starting to question our need to pay 70/80 mil for De ligt. De ligt is a wonderful player, no doubt about that but isn't Todibo too? Umtiti has always been too emotional but now he seems to be getting reckless too. I can't see taking the spot back from Lenglet who has matured wonderfully since the beginning of the season. Get well soon Dembele amd Todibo. This match has little consequence so don't feel down about Barça associates. On to Tuesday to finish the job we have started! Visça el Barça 🔵🔴💪

Is it just me or did everyone else also thought that Artur was little off in today’s game, maybe the robbery at his home had something to do with it also Boateng. I’ll prefer Higuain, at least he bottles the chance unlike prince who hardly takes one.

well Barca doesn't really need d match, it was just more like an exhibition match for them since they hv won d league already... in a normal circumstance, this wouldn't have been possible for celta vigo.. respect Barca anyway buh they need to prepare for times when messi wouldn't be available to them any longer just like what's happening in Madrid with the absence of ronaldo , one love👍

Malcom, dembele, and alena are the only players on the starting XI to have scored a goal for the senior side. dembele went off injured. we were doing everything right, but we never threatened them, we had no one who looked like scoring today. i stand by the fact we should have had abel ruiz at least on the bench if not in the starting xi
