West Ham relieved the pressure on boss Manuel Pellegrini as they ended their seven-game winless run with a first victory at Chelsea for 17 years.
Match Report
Frank Lampard's men were frustrated by a resolute West Ham United side on Saturday as they fell to defeat at home, ending their run of good form.
Chelsea couldn't find the net in the first half despite having the lion's share of possession and having a handful of good chances. Both goalkeepers made fine saves to keep the scores level as they went into half-time.
Then, early in the second half, West Ham's Aaron Cresswell cut in from the left hand side in the box to curl one into the bottom corner with his right foot. They thought they had a second later on, but the ball was judged to have hit Michail Antonio's arm on the way into the net after a VAR check.

8' Mount's shot too straight
Decent effort! Mount is played in-behind the Hammers defence after a lovely ball by Pulisic, the midfielder then fires the ball towards goal, but there isn't enough pace on it to beat Martin in goal, who makes a comfortable save.
21' Reece James' cross hits the post
OFF THE POST! James whips a lovely cross into the box from the right, that takes a big deflection off Cresswell and it flies over the head of Martin and towards the back of the net. However, luckily for the Hammers, it strikes the post and goes out for a corner.
25' What a save from Kepa
GREAT SAVE! Kepa is called into action for the first time to deny Antonio after the striker got his head to a cross from the right and he powered the ball towards goal, but it was slightly too close to the Chelsea keeper, who pushed it away to safety.
43' Double chances from Kovacic and Giroud
SAVES! Martin with three great stops within seconds to deny Chelsea! The first to deny Kovacic after his low strike from the edge of the box, but he can't hold the ball and the rebound falls to Grioud, who tries to tap it in from close range, but Martin makes himself big and it bounces off him and into the path of Pedro, who is also denied by the West Ham keeper.
45' Pulisic misses a great chance!
HOW DID HE MISS? Pulisic with a great chance at the far post to put Chelsea ahead right at the end of the half! James whips a superb cross into the box, which Giroud misses and it falls to Pulisic at the far post, completely unmarked, but he somehow skies the ball over the crossbar.
46' Balbuena handball overlooked by ref
Penalty shout! Giroud tries to play a quick one-two with Pulisic in the box and the ball appears to strike the arm of Balbuena, but there wasn't anything the Hammers defender could do about that. Nothing given by the referee or VAR.
48' GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 West Ham (Cresswell)
GOOOAAALLL! West Ham take the lead just a couple of minutes after the restart, it's 1-0! Cresswell sprints forward on the overlap down the left wing, he the cuts inside and beats James, before sliding the ball into the far right-hand corner of the net, out of the reach of Kepa.
60' Kepa makes a brilliant save
GREAT SAVE! Balbuena almost makes it 2-0 to West Ham, only to be denied by Kepa! Snodgrass whipped a corner into the box and it's met by Balbuena, but Kepa gets across and makes a superb diving save to push it around the post and out for another corner.
68' Handball! Antonio's goal disallowed
GOAL RULED OUT! VAR has ruled the goal out for handball. The ball seemed to hit the post and then the arm of Antonio, before being bundled over the line.
89' CLOSE! Pulisic's shot wide out
Decent effort! Pulisic gets forward down the right, the ball is played off to him by Kante and the American then lashes it towards goal, but it flies narrowly wide of the near post.

Well guys I think my transfer targets have been justified now. We need Ziyech, Koulibaly and Chillwell/Gaya asap. I've tried to tell you guys our current team needs time to grow but the personel we put around these young players needs to be elites to guide them. Imagine if we played a line up that looked like this;

Have to admit, Frank got things wrong not at the start but midway through the match. This wasnt the time to test Pulisic at false 9. We needed Michy on. I'd have brought in Willian, Odoi and Michy to do a job in the remaining 30 mins at the 60 min mark. I hope he learns from this cos I dont even think Pellegrini outdid him necessarily but rather he outdid himself in that he messed up things that should have been obvious. As for the players, I cant blame too many but i have to say Giroud and Pedro are just finished, they did absolutely nothing in the game and the rest of the team were playing by themselves. It was as if we were playing with 9 men. Reece James deserves praise cos he had to do 2 players jobs at the same time, he got beaten for the goal by Cresswell but let's be honest, that was a once in a lifetime goal he ain't gonna do that again and that's the thing with these teams, everyone comes up against Chelsea and does some sort of wonder goal and at the other end their Keepers play like Manuel Neuer. I think we heavily missed Tammy and this only highlights how important he is. I heard we are linked with Werner, after seeing all the shambles by Giroud and Michy, I'm starting to warm to the idea of bringing him in not gonna lie. Anyway we move on, no point dwelling on this too much cos we got more matches to look forward too and if we have our bad period now, it might be for the better rather than having it all the way in like February time.

What can I say? game of 2 halves. 1st half we looked like we will win 3-0. 2nd half we looked like even getting a draw would be an amazing result for us at home. Words cant Express everything wrong with this game. Originally I was for the idea of having Pedro and Giroud play due to our players fatigue but good god, never let these 2 players onto the pitch again. Frank got it wrong with the subs. I think he should have left Jorginho on and subs out Giroud, Pedro and Mount in return bringing in Odoi, Willian and Batshuayi and play Pulisic number 10. For the first time I have to say Frank got it wrong badly. The starters looked fine but the changes made should have been Odoi, Willian and BATSHUAYI. Anyway we move on, we all should have at least known it was coming, nothing lasts forever in football, everyone has their bad days even Man City who are better have the odd draw or loss, what's important is that we grow from this. Not a great day but it is what it is, we move on...
