Goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio in the first-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, along with a Rodrygo brace in the second-leg, proved to be enough to see the current holders progress into the semi-finals.
The west Londoners will now only have the Premier League to focus on until the end of the season as they look to improve upon their current position in the table. Chelsea's inability to convert good chances was their downfall once again with Madrid now progressing into the last-four of the competition.
The Champions League holders will now face either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. Pep Guardiola's side hold a 3-0 first-leg advantage heading into the second-leg against Bayern in Germany.
As for the Blues, they have just seven games left to play in the Premier League with European football looking unlikely for next season. Lampard was unable to follow in Thomas Tuchel's footsteps from 2021 and bring a third Champions League trophy to Stamford Bridge.

I said this because I have seen players dubbed to be the next Messi and I have seen such players fail to reach their full potential. you all can level the blame for Chelsea on the owner the manager and the coaching staff I played Saturday and Sunday football in my local area some of my team mates had hangovers from the pub some had hardly slept but you know what we gave our best whether we got a good thrashing or not but we played our best chelsea players are professionals on the pitch they need no coaching their salary alone should speak for them the truth is they are a bunch of useless players that have no heart or love of the club they are about themselves I saw a player who desperately wanted to get away from Liverpool and all season he was unstoppable he would bite your ears off if you got in his way and Barcelona took him can you say that about any of the chelsea players professionally they are useless I would rather watch a bunch of girls trying to play football on a muddy pitch than watching chelsea
