Game is over and the final score is Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham. Here is the match report.
Match Report
Chelsea's wonderful record at home to Tottenham Hotspur continued on Sunday afternoon, as Thomas Tuchel's side beat Antonio Conte's charges 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham have now won just one of their last 37 away games against Chelsea, following goals from Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva. What's more, this is Conte's first defeat in the Premier League as Spurs boss after going unbeaten in his first nine league games.
The Italian boss opted for a more defensive system in this game, with full-backs Matt Doherty and Ryan Sessegnon as wingers in a 4-4-2 formation, due to the way in which his team were exposed by Chelsea in their two Carabao Cup semi-final ties.
It appeared as though it was working in the first half, with Chelsea largely frustrated, but there was one moment of controversy that almost could have changed the outcome of the match.
Controversy
Inside the Chelsea area Harry Kane lightly put his hand on Thiago Silva, who decided to subsequently throw himself to the ground, before firing the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga. Yet, after a VAR review Kane was adjudged to have somehow fouled the Brazilian centre-back.
Spurs were understandably angry heading into the half-time break, and Chelsea took advantage of this in the early part of the second half.
Straight from kick-off, a well-worked move by the Blues led to Hakim Ziyech coming inside and sending a left-footed shot into the top left corner to give the home side the lead.
Then, eight minutes later in the 55th minute, Thiago Silva doubled Chelsea's lead. Mason Mount's free-kick cross from the left was met by the 37-year-old, who simply guided the ball into the far corner with his head.
Chelsea saw out the remainder of the match with relative ease, as their typical defensive-minded approach worked to their benefit.
This victory moves Chelsea up to 47 points, one point behind Liverpool and 10 behind leaders Manchester City, while seventh-placed Tottenham were unable to make up the two-point gap to Manchester United in fourth, although they have games in hand.

I'm beginning to think that Tuchel is dealing with the EPL coaches one season each. Last season was against Guardiola home and away and neutral ground. This season is Tottenham's turn who knows either next season will be Klopp or Arteta
