Chelsea 2023/24 home kit leaked: New design, release date, Champions League hint

It's only October, the World Cup hasn't begun yet, Chelsea are onto their second manager of the season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a Blue and next season's home shirt may well have been leaked already.

Early images of concept kits have emerged for the royal Blue home shirt to be worn next season just two months after the start of the 2022/23 campaign, and fans may well like what they see.

With a gold trim and badge, the kit most closely represents the 2012/13 kit that paid tribute to the Champions League winners from the year before and is a continuation of the simplistic design of this season after last year's shirt caused outrage with a variety of patterns included.

The concept images, made by footyheadliners, show a standard Chelsea blue shirt with minimal chequered patterns as a vague background pattern with the Nike logo, Chelsea badge and sleeves all trimmed in a slick gold. The concepts are made from information that the site have, and admits to not knowing the collar design.

Chelsea's current home kit has a collar with one button and a white trim including a light blue pattern and is much plainer than their previous zig-zag and chequered design with bright yellow trimmings. The new design promises to be a big movement from that with Nike preferring simplistic jerseys this season and that could well continue into next term as well.

Chelsea have a partnership with Nike until 2031 after signing a huge 16-year deal with the worldwide sports brand in 2015 and will keep their logo but may have a new main sponsor as the controversial agreement with Three runs out in 2023. Three suspended their sponsorship earlier this year amid the sanctions of Roman Abramovich's assets by the UK government but re-opened their support under the new ownership and are the current main shirt sponsors.
