Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool target Ugurcan Cakir as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The world's most expensive keeper has lost his place to 38-year-old Willy Caballero in recent weeks and boss Frank Lampard is considering recommending the Blues sign a new No 1.
According to reports in Turkey, Trabzonspor goalkeeper Cakir is on Chelsea's radar as they begin to assess their options amid Kepa's poor run of form.
Fotospor claim that former Chelsea midfielder Eddie Newton, who is now assistant manager at Trabzonspor after leaving his role with the Blues last month, has been 'constantly' passing information back to the club and has sent rave reviews about Cakir.
The 23-year-old keeper has caught the eye this season and played a key role in Trabzonspor's title charge with the Turkish side currently second and just one point behind leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
The report also claims that Chelsea identified Cakir as a potential target after his brilliant performance in Trabzonspor's first leg semi-final victory over Fenerbache in the Turkish Cup earlier this week.
The Turkey international has also been attracting a lot of interest from Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp being linked with a move for the keeper since September.
It is not yet clear how much Cakir would cost but previous reports suggest that a fee in the region of £18million could be enough to secure his services.
Trabzonspor are already bracing themselves for numerous offers in the summer with other Premier League clubs expected to bid for Cakir.

As a former footballer( goalkeeper) myself I'm begging Lampard to pls go all out to sign this Turkish gk. I've watched few videos of this guy and I bet everyone to challenge me that he could become d best in d world in no distant future. He has good reflexes , good timings, jumps very well . very good at one on one, and above all commands his defenders very well. Kepa is also good but far below this guy. I urge many Chelsea fans to watch our last match with Arsenal. Kepa shld had saved bellerin's equalizer if had moved two steps to his right side when d player controlled d ball to his left and took a shot that went into d net. Kepa is a goalkeeper that either conceeds a goal either in d 3rd minutes or d last minutes of a game. The records are there for verification. In fact Chelsea goalkeeper trainer will have less work doing when we have this guy in our team. Lamp shld put pressure on his colleague (Eddie) to convince this gk to join us .He is going to be 2nd choice when he joins Liverpool.

Defenders are hard workers for nothing, they have a lot of pressure bihind until they loose position.we lost many points due to cross balls.Lampard organise your defence first before you blame on the Goalkeeper. And that is not the way of living with players. you can't blame what you have in hand expecting to get the one you are targeting.incorcourage first what you have in hand.

If he's coming in as a 2nd choice fair enough otherwise we should go for Gulasci of RB Leipzig, he is the unsung hero of that team and would be a very commanding and all round type of keeper that would push Kepa to have to improve...

Sell that 38 year old man and buy this guy to back up kepa... Because I don't see why you want to keep an old man and sell a 25 year old

Lampard should work on his defence than chancing keepers ..the defense is the problem not the keepers
