Chelsea assistant coach Gianfranco Zola is to leave the club when his contract expires this summer, according to Sky.
According to Sky Sports, Zola will leave Chelsea when his contract expires this summer and will not be offered an extension.
The former Napoli and Italy forward is a Blues legend and returned to Stamford Bridge last year as Sarri’s No 2.
However, it seems increasingly likely that the Coach will be appointed by Juve once Chelsea lock down a successor.
With that in mind, Zola leaving could be a case of the London club clearing the decks before a replacement is brought in.
That replacement is expected to be Frank Lampard, despite Derby County looking to renew his contract.

Shameful to see Zola not get a new role in the new Chelsea management setup somewhere in within the club. Thanks for everything

Zola doesn't have a great record at all as head coach. Frank is on a wave of good publicity and is a recent enough player that memories haven't wavered. How much of this situation is a media beat up and how much of it is legitimate remains to be seen. On a side note, I am particularly comforted in the fact that very very few of our ex-players ever have anything bad to say about the club (lets ignore the snake for a minute) and all seem to be welcomed home with open arms for anything.

Good. He is a nice man and club legend but is a rubbish coach. If Sarri had a stronger number 2, one who held him to account, the the season would have been a lot different. Zola was a yes man just happy to be there.
