Chelsea are considering a signing a new striker before the transfer window closes — in case Nicolas Jackson leaves permanently.
Jackson was set to join Bayern Munich on loan until Chelsea lost Liam Delap to a hamstring injury and The Athletic revealed they had revoked Jackson’s permission to undergo a medical, asking him to return from Germany. The London club now do not intend to let the 24-year-old Senegal international make a temporary switch under any circumstances.
As things stand, Chelsea expect Jackson to rejoin head coach Enzo Maresca’s first team squad for a packed schedule of domestic and European competition. They are, however, studying contingency plans for the event of suitable proposals arriving prior to Monday’s trading deadline.
A perceived lack of credible loan options means full-time acquisitions are being explored and they have already made multiple enquiries, including for Sporting CP and Denmark attacker Conrad Harder.
Chelsea confirmed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United on Saturday as their ninth arrival this summer.
Delap, who signed for Chelsea from Ipswich Town for £30million ($40m) this summer, was withdrawn on 14 minutes after pulling up at Stamford Bridge and immediately gesturing to his hamstring. He was replaced by Tyrique George.
Delap’s injury and Jackson’s proposed departure would have left summer signing Joao Pedro as Chelsea’s only recognised senior striker.
“When you have two strikers it is enough, when one of them is injured for weeks it is not enough,” Maresca said at full time on Saturday. “Today we played for more than one hour with Tyrique and he did brilliant.
“The last time he played as a No 9 was against Manchester United last year. We tried to use different solutions. If you remember there were some games where we used Pedro (Neto) as a No 9. But for sure when you have two proper No 9’s it is enough.”
Bayern Munich’s Director of Sport Max Eberl told Sky later on Saturday: “Chelsea have informed us that they want the player back – after we had reached an agreement yesterday and were allowed to conduct the medical.
“Now the situation is that the boy is in Munich and we have to send him back. That’s the current state of affairs, I can’t look into the future.”
Jackson’s Chelsea future had been the subject of uncertainty throughout the summer after he dropped behind summer arrivals Delap and Joao Pedro in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
He was left out of Maresca’s squad for the pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Milan as Chelsea and the striker explored a possible transfer in the final weeks of the summer window.

How can Chelsea place Delap ahead of Jackson? A disrespectful gesture by the manager. Jackson should snub them. Just because Jackson is black, like how can Delap be preferred to Jackson? I can’t put my head around it
I prefer delap

Imagine after September Joao Pedro goes injured? We are in trouble big time. They signed Garnachio that wasn't needed just because he wanted Chelsea, instead to sign striker. Another area they are not seeing is defence. Sell injury prone Fofana and Badashel to get good defender they are relying on those injury prone
Oh I get you, that’s why I mentioned him being converted to an att fwd

Garnacho isn’t a st, and I see his potential blooming in Chelsea as an att fwd if he doesn’t let it all get to his head.
I know he's not a striker, we have so much in that position already, a striker and a defender is more needed, don't get me wrong he is good but not actually needed

Two strikers is usually enough for a team that plays 4 - 3 - 3. It means you only play one striker at a time. I honestly think Pedro and Delap are enough. But with the injury to Delap it leaves us with just Jao Pedro. They have said anything about the extent of the injury. So I don't think it is that bad. Chelsea should not panic. If Bayern comes in with good money and a permanent transfer, Chelsea should sell. If we buy Fermin Lopez, then it should be enough cover in the team. as Jao Pedro can continue to play up front as a striker and Fermin plays behind him as a 10. Fermin and Palmer can share responsibilities and play the number 10 role as required. It is a long season with so many matches. Chelsea doesn't need to sign a striker. What we need is attacking midfielder to compete for the Palmer position. Then I honestly believe we need a world class defender at the back. I don't rate Tosin and Badashiele. They are both slow,. although god passes of the ball. But that is not enough when playing against really faster attacking teams . You need the pace of Wesley Fofana The positional awareness and calmness of Levi. But at the moment Levi is out. Wesley Fofana is too injury prone. I honestly think he could be better than Levi if he stays fit through out the season. This leaves us with just Chaloba who is quick on his feet. The youngster, Acheampong could be good, but he doesn't have much first team experience. If I was the board, I would have sold Disasi, and Badashiele and bought Guehi from Crystal Palace.

is it not better he goes on loan with the possibility of recall just like chaloaba when things go wrong with the existing strikers as in the instant case of injury to Delap. It is not in the interest of Chelsea to allow him to leave. Chelsea only agreed to allow him leave because he Jackson requested for it

The initial loan move is actually unfair to the player I don’t see any reason why that should’ve been accepted or made public in the first place, when we had zero strikers this dude with support from Palmer and other team mates carried the team, from “grass to grace” I mean Chelsea were struggling as a team at the time, honestly I see the initial loan move as an insult to the players contributions to Chelsea, he should make the permanent move to Bayern.

let go for another striker and that's is all
Wood of Nottingham Forest will be a good loan deal.

Jackson is also a human being treat him fairly, if you need him keep him if you don't need him let him go not to use him as a stop gap. When your trusted strikers come back you forget about, that's not fair.
like Man City treated Yaya Toure fairly! see who's talking.

Chelsea should do a deal with Nottingham Forest for Wood, even if it will requires a season long loan deal Chelsea will not regrets it.

Is the so called thinking at all? When you have so many matches to play this season, you think only two is enough for each position especially the attackers? Look at the mess you want to put the Club into suddenly due to the lack of proper planning and stupid decision to sell Jackson.
short up, close that your dirty mouth, where was Chelsea before this coach came in and drive us to this stage. you're one of those that discriminate Maresca last year, now instead of you to hide in shame

Try to understand the meaning of contracts signings. no contract between Jackson and Bayern, only agreement with documentation prepared and it has to be sign after medical unfortunately medical wasn't done before he got call back from Chelsea. Besides Chelsea is the owner of his original contract so they have all the right to do whatever they wanted.

If I’m one of Jackson advisers I’ll ask him to return to Chelsea and go and prove himself how he supposed to be respected in Chelsea squad. Because there’s great opportunities for him to shine with him and Pedro working together in front line unless he’s not proud of he can do it Chelsea squad.
the guy is afraid of competition bro na idiot. I don't understand him refusing to come back. similar thing happen to chalobah and now he is first team choice chalobah was even treated badly because he was not given a chance at all when Enzo was appointed I remember he was our best defender at the end of the season and suddenly the new manager said he is not part of his plans chaloba should be the one to reject Chelsea because he was doing well in palace and yet this guy come back and start playing with his heart even with his good performance Chelsea still thinking of selling him until fofana got injured. Jackson is stupid because did he think he can bench KANE he will only play few games where they need to rest Kane or when they are winning already. you cant play when is Bayern vs PSG or real Madrid you will seat on bench ni only if Kane got inured you can never be important in Bayern so to me I don't even want you back because I want the best for you to go there score goals as we all know is easy to score goals in Germany league so he will score goals and bayern come with 80m it a win win for both of us.

sometimes life is unfair especially if you are black...only because Delap is on injuries, they cancel the loan...I wish Jackson play stupid because coach don't consider him as a good player,, Jackson never lost hope you're an African man and a good player 😉 👍
You're rapping bomb 💣 cuz nobody asked Nico Jackson to leave the club in the first place, the club wanted him to stay and fight for his shirt... but instead he chose on his own to leave. That was when Chelsea decided to let him leave on loan, and they have every right to cancel the loan move.

This club called Chelsea I it's a very funny club and whoever is taking decision when it comes to transfers is not someone that knows football at all because I don't see any reason why they see Jackson as a striker when he had shown in several occasions that he is not and cannot fill in there perfectly. Now Bayern Munich want to sign him up instead of making everything possible for him to move rather you guys are beating about the bush. It's a big shame to whoever is handling the transfer business involving Chelsea.
You knows nothing about football, please step aside.

You don't complain that a mad man is wearing a tattered clothes that's how you know he's a mad, So stop praising a striker that he scores the big question is whether he's doing enough, for me the answer is NO.Yes as a spare tyre but not as a substantive one
buy yours you fool
