Chelsea denied top echelon spot in European club rankings
Chelsea have quickly vaulted up the ladder in terms of fear factor ever since German tactician Thomas Tuchel took the reins from club icon Frank Lampard halfway through the 2020-21 Premier League season.
The former Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and 1.FSV Mainz 05 manager has only presided over just forty-four matches for the Blues since 26 January of this year, but has already brought massive success to Stamford Bridge.
Under his stewardship, Chelsea were crowned champions of Europe when they beat Premier League rivals Manchester City in the Champions League final before lifting the UEFA Super Cup. The Blues has also reached the final of the FA Cup, and though they would end up losing to Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City, three major cup finals in his first half-season on the job signaled a massive return for Chelsea while alerting their biggest rivals that the club was aiming to return to the top of the domestic and European ladder.
But according to the official UEFA club rankings mentioned by Football.London, Chelsea still sit behind Manchester City, Liverpool, and German juggernaut Bayern Munich thanks to UEFA club coefficients.
The Rekordmeister occupy first in the table given their sheer dominance of the Bundesliga and their outstanding record in reaching the latter stages of the Champions League, while City and the Reds are also ahead of the Stamford Bridge outfit.
A platform to build on under Tuchel during 2021-22
Though Chelsea may have been snubbed in the current UEFA club rankings, the Blues are currently mounting a Premier League campaign that is looking to build on the early success achieved under Tuchel last season.
On the back of the summer purchase of the potential final missing tactical piece in Belgian hitman Romelu Lukaku, Tuchel’s men currently sit atop the Premier League table (7-1-1) just ahead of Liverpool and Man City respectively.
Chelsea are also favorites to claw out of their Champions League group (H) which also features Juventus, Zenit St. Petersburg, and Malmö FF and currently sit second after two wins and a 1-0 loss to the Serie A giants.
Should their season continue and result in a Premier League crown and another deep run in Europe, there is no question that Chelsea will look to push further up the European chain after hopefully securing the right man in Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern deserves to be first they are amazing team, do you know that no team has kept a clean sheet against Bayern since 6 February 2020 till date? The last team to have kept a clean sheet against Bayern was Leipzig in a 0-0 draw since then they have played over 80+ matches and we are still looking for a team to keep a clean sheet against Bayern, i don't even think Tuchel Chelsea can even manage to it. This is how Bayern see other teams defence.
