Chelsea transfer news: The Blues are looking to land Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson in the coming weeks of the window, though Tottenham are also interested

The Blues have been heavily linked with a switch for the Wales international, following on from their failure to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. football.london understands that Chelsea have held initial talks over a move for Johnson for the coming weeks of the window.

football.london also understands that Nottingham Forest currently value the youngster at £50million, following on from his debut Premier League campaign. The 22-year-old often plays on the right-wing, with his pace and dribbling ability being valuable assets on the counter attack.

There had been interest from Brentford, who have seen several bids turned down for Johnson after making an approach to sign him. Tottenham have also been linked with a move, however they are yet to make a bid as they look to clear the squad out before any more incomings.

The Daily Mail reports that other options are being considered, with youngster Andrey Santos offered as a loan option to land Johnson. It remains to be seen if that will tempt Forest to lower their valuation and allow for a deal to be pushed through before the window closses.
