Callum Wilson emerged as a Chelsea transfer target in the summer
Callum Wilson has been linked with a move to Chelsea since the summer.
Neither Alvaro Morata nor Olivier Giroud have managed to be the striker that Maurizio Sarri wants in his first team since the Italian arrived at Stamford Bridge.
The duo have scored just six goals between them in the Premier League this season - five for Morata and one for Giroud - and the Blues are thought to be on the lookout for fresh faces this winter.
And Eden Hazard was utilised in a false nine role against champions Manchester City on Saturday, with Giroud on the bench and Morata not in the squad.
Wilson is regarded by many bookmakers as Chelsea's most likely January transfer window signing and with eight Premier League goals to his name this season, it's easy to see why.
The 26-year-old has proven himself to be a true fighter, coming through the ranks at Coventry City and then having to deal with rupturing the cruciate ligament in his right knee, before suffering the same injury in his left knee.
He made his debut for the England senior side this year, scoring in the 3-0 win over the USA.
But if Chelsea do want to buy him in January, they will have to pay a lot more than they would have done in the summer.
Wilson was already a highly regarded centre-forward in the summer, but according to research by the CIES Football Observatory, he was worth just under £12million.
Given his form this season, however, the research group have priced the Bournemouth striker up at £30million now.
The CIES Football Observatory work out a player's value based on a number of categories, including contract duration, year of transfer, book value, loan status, nationality and economic level of the recruiting club (estimated if unknown).

I wouldnt mind Wilson but the issue is he can be inconsistent and end up a 1 seasoner then we get another Drinkwater on our hands. We need someone who's proven at the top flight for at least 2 years. Only player where I might make an exception is Piatek since I've heard only good things about how good he is even though he could also be a risk.... but Wilson is a target only worth considering as a last ditch effort. Despite his form, he's not reliable in the long run imo.
