Chelsea have stepped up their search for a new permanent manager after they reportedly invited Julian Nagelsmann to 'present his ideas' to club chiefs this week.
German coach Nagelsmann was recently dismissed from his position as Bayern Munich head coach and swiftly replaced by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
His availibility in the market has raised attention from a number of top clubs across Europe, including Todd Boehly's Chelsea who are searching for a new manager.
The Blues parted ways with Graham Potter at the start of the month, before appointing Frank Lampard as caretaker boss, as their search for a permanent solution goes on.
However, Boehly has clearly set the wheels in motion in regard to appointing a new head coach after he invited two managers to speak with club chiefs.
According to German outlet BILD, Nagelsmann has received an invite to introduce himself personally and present his ideas to the Chelsea bosses.
Just over a week ago, former Spain and Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique was offered the same opportunity and is understood to have made a good impression.
There had also been suggestions that the Blues were preparing an 'imminent agreement' with the Spaniard but will wait to meet Nagelsmann first.
There is optimism that the German coach will be the right man to lead the Blues to success, despite his recent departure from Bundesliga giants Bayern.
The same outlet report how Nagelsmann will not be alone, should he decide to move to west London, given the arrival of Christopher Vivell last year.
In December, the Blues confirmed the appointment of Vivell as their new technical director.
Vivell previously worked at RB Leipzig in the club's recruitment and scouting departments before leaving the role in October to take up a position as an advisor at Stamford Bridge in October.
And Nagelsmann has a close relationship with the 36-year-old, having previously worked together at German side Hoffenheim before they reunited at RB Leipzig from 2019-2021.
As previously reported by MailSport, Nagelsmann and Enrique, both of whom are out of work, are two of the main contenders to succeed Graham Potter following his dismissal after less than seven months in charge of the Blues.
Chelsea are supposedly ready to consider as many as seven candidates before whittling down the list in a search led by co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.
Chelsea had previously been in touch via intermediaries to learn more about Nagelsmann’s plans following his dismissal from Bayern Munich.
The 35-year-old is keen to understand more about the club, its structure and the level of influence he would be able to have. He is not thought to be in a rush to return to management and is weighing up when to make a comeback.

They need to appoint a new and capable manager sooner than later. The remaining part of the season will allow them to start having insight into the team. Then they will build on preseason and present something good next year.
