Chelsea are reportedly looking to rival Man United for Roma and France midfielder Manu Kone.

The 25-year-old was one of France’s better players during the 2026 World Cup, playing a key role before their elimination by Spain in the semi-final.

Kone has been heavily linked with a move to Man United as part of Michael Carrick’s midfield rebuild, having already added Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

During conversations over Alejandro Garnacho’s potential move to Roma, Chelsea have informed them of their interest in Kone.

Roma need to sell players in order to adhere to FFP obligations and it’s understood a fee of around €50 million would be enough to get a deal for Kone done.
