Chelsea are no closer to agreeing contracts with Tammy Abraham or Reece James, having negotiated new deals with the rest of their first-team Academy graduates.
Fikayo Tomori last week followed Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Bill Gilmour in signing new Chelsea contracts as a reward for their development under head coach Frank Lampard.
Chelsea are now keen to agree new deals with Abraham and James, whose current contracts will have two years remaining at the end of this season.
But progress on both players has not been as fast as had been hoped and Chelsea are not thought to be imminently preparing to announce a new contract for either man.
The fact 19-year-old Hudson-Odoi signed a five-year contract worth £120,000-a-week in September is likely to mean that Abraham wants at least parity, if not a better deal.
Bayern Munich had wanted to sign Hudson-Odoi, which inflated his value, but 22-year-old Abraham would already be worth at least £60 million and would be wanted by a number of clubs at home and abroad if there was ever any possibility of a move.
His importance to Lampard’s team was further highlighted when they lost and failed to score against West Ham United and then beat Aston Villa, thanks to his goal and assist, on Abraham’s return.
Abraham signed his last £50,000-a-week contract in the summer of 2017 before joining Swansea City on loan.
James made his first-team debut for Chelsea in September and became the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the Champions League, when he netted in the 4-4 draw with Ajax. He has now made 14 Blues appearances in total. The 20-year-old only signed a new deal last summer ahead of his season-long loan at Wigan Athletic.

I see people bashing CHO. CHO came back early from an injury that ends 2/3 of athletes careers. The fact he can even kick a ball is impressive considering he should have had at least another 3 or 4 months off rehabilitating. As for the contract, of course his camp are going to push for the best contract they can get him cos end of the day they want what's best for him, he himself doesnt demand these wages the representatives and camps do. So if you want to blame someone for him earning 120k, blame them cos hes an academy graduate so of course his dream was always to play for Chelsea. People are ridiculous stop targeting these young players who haven't even played a full season in their careers yet. You all gave Morata and co. a year but these academy players cant even have 4 months before you dig into them. Fakest fanbase ever and this from 1 of its fans, other fanbase never put pressure on the players the way Chelsea fans do no wonder Salah and De Bruyne left without even bothering to fight for their right to stay. And how dare people say Tammy isnt that good cos he wants a contract? who's better than him in the league other than Vardy currently? he might not have scored in the last few games due to the crappy service he gets from wingers and midfielders but hes still like 2nd or 3rd top scorer but now hes "not that good". Gice me a break, Didier Drogba in his first season finished with around the same number of goals as Tammy has now, I wonder what this fanbase would have thought of him then.....stop this BS.

let's be careful with odoi remember he was rush fully wanted by Bayern and now he's gotten a new five year contract he was by far a better player than sancho in their days a fact wich sancho himself clarified but Sancho has proved himself over the course odoi only shone then for the money now he's got it he know whether he plays or not he's signed a new 5 year contract so he will get the pay regardless of whether he plays or not by the way he was a good player very very very good player now he needs to keep his cool unless he will turn out to be the new raheem sterling and we will all regret him
