Chelsea players held a clear-the-air meeting at the club's training ground on Monday following their 6-0 loss to Manchester City.

The Blues' defeat at the Etihad Stadium was their worst ever in the Premier League and caused further questions to be raised regarding the future of manager Maurizio Sarri.

As reported by The Sun, Chelsea players spoke openly to each other regarding the club's current predicament, although it isn't known whether Sarri was part of the meeting.

Chelsea are currently in sixth place in the Premier League, 15 points adrift of leaders Manchester City, and have lost three of their last four top flight fixtures.

Sarri's side are back in action on Thursday when they host Malmo in the Europa League.

The Chelsea manager oversaw a training session at Cobham on Monday that consisted of players that didn't start the game against City.

There are some tough fixtures on the horizon for Chelsea - before the end of February they will face Manchester United in the FA Cup, Manchester City in the Carabao Cup and Tottenham in the Premier League.

Sarri has received a considerable amount of criticism from supporters in recent weeks for the club's performances, and, although he is under contract until 2021, there is much speculation regarding the 60-year-old's future at Chelsea.
