Chelsea are expected to be busy in the summer transfer market as they bid to freshen up Enzo Maresca's squad after securing qualification for next season's Champions League
Chelsea will embark on a mass summer clear-out after clinching a golden ticket to next season's Champions League, with Enzo Maresca and Co ready to part ways with a staggering 14 first-team stars.
The Blues will return to Europe's premier competition next year after finishing fourth in the Premier League. And Maresca is set to be backed in the transfer market after finishing his maiden campaign at the helm with a flourish - and a trophy - in last week's Europa Conference League final.
But while the Londoners will be seeking reinforcements to bolster the Italian's playing squad, a number of players will be offloaded in the coming months.
As per The Guardian, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix are among those Chelsea want to shift; the latter arrived on a permanent basis for £45million after a positive loan spell in 2023 but was farmed out to AC Milan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign and is free to leave for good.
Madueke enjoyed a positive season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions and winning his first England caps. But the report adds there is a feeling that the former PSV Eindhoven man's 'development has stalled'.
A whole host of other stars are effectively up for sale according to the report, including both of the Blues' senior goalkeepers: Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic.
Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana are also available for the right price and, 12 months from the club's last attempt to offload him, Trevoh Chalobah's future is once again unclear.
In midfield, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu are all available; Dewsbury-Hall followed Maresca in swapping Leicester for the Blues but has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling - who endured a disappointing campaign on loan at Arsenal - have also been deemed surplus to requirements and can move subject to satisfactory bids.
In terms of incomings, Chelsea have opened talks with Borussia Dortmund over a transfer for Jamie Gittens, the England Under-21 winger who has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool.
It remains to be seen if the Blues will trigger their £25m obligation to sign Jadon Sancho permanently, with the club able to back out of a deal at the cost of a £5m penalty.
