Chelsea are pushing ahead with a proposed £22million deal for Aleksandr Golovin and want Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund plus Daniele Rugani of Juventus.
Golovin has impressed for Russia at the World Cup so far and Chelsea are interested in signing the midfielder from CSKA Moscow.
Rugani is a promising young centre back at Juventus but has struggled for consistent game time while American winger Pulisic is highly regarded in Germany.
The Blues have also turned down £50m from Barcelona for Willian but expect Premier League rivals Manchester United to enter the bidding.
Meanwhile their midfielder Lewis Baker has joined Leeds United on a season loan. The 23-year-old spent last campaign with Middlesbrough but failed to make a significant impact at the Riverside.
Monaco have expressed interest in signing Chelsea's highly-rated teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is regarded as one of the best talents to come through the academy but has yet to agree a new contract.
Monaco are already hopeful of signing Chelsea's England U17 defender Jonathan Panzo and are keen on taking advantage of Hudson-Odoi's contract situation.

Is it weird to say I'm not yet convinced about Golovin? Like, I want to see more of him before I can actually put a verdict out.

I would much rather just give a squad place to Mason Mount. As usual, we buy a young player with potential for the first team when we already have one on loan who is a couple years younger and already looking good. I'm pretty certain this is just Roman buying a Russia player so we can bring in a lot more Russian interest to the club.

Revamping our midfield around Kante and offloading the likes of Barkely and Drinkwater while not being able to lure top talents with the appeal of UCL football is gonna be a difficult test for us. Pragmatically speaking a midfield roster of RLC-Kante-Golovin-Seri-Fabregas-Bakayoko would be the best case scenario at this point, if Sarri fails to bring in Jorginho with him.
