Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest simulated to get a score prediction for PL clash

Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, so we simulated the game to predict the final score

Chelsea will be looking to build on last week's Premier League win with another three points when they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Chelsea picked up a fantastic 3-0 win over Luton Town in their most recent Premier League outing, with Raheem Sterling starring. This was then followed by a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup second round, though the Blues required some of their big guns to come off the bench and secure the victory.

Next up for the Blues is a third-consecutive home game, with Nottingham Forest visiting Stamford Bridge. The last meeting between the two ended in a 2-2 draw, with Sterling bagging a brace.

So, could Chelsea make it two Premier League wins on the bounce? Let's take a look.

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, transfers and suspensions. FIFA 23 is not up to date with the latest kits or numbers or managers, so both sides are in the kits from the 2022/23 season.

We predict that the Blues could set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows:  Sanchez; Disasi, Silva, Colwill; Gusto, Caicedo, Fernandez, Chilwell; Sterling, Gallagher; Jackson.

Chelsea looked confident in attack and the better side in the first half at Stamford Bridge, with Sterling causing problems once again. The Blues failed to capitalise on their dominance in the first half, but just four minutes after the restart they went ahead.

As Conor Gallagher led a swift break, the Englishman picked out the central run of Sterling with a well-timed through ball. Sterling cut back onto his right before curling an effort towards goal, and his powerful strike beat the 'keeper before nestling in the far corner.

After going ahead, the Blues got a bit complacent, with Pochettinos's side holding onto the ball and not creating many chances. They were then made to pay for this as Forest grabbed an equaliser in the 88th minute.

Taiwo Awoniyi powered a header towards goal that was well saved by Robert Sanchez, but Anthony Elanga was quickest to react to the loose ball as he fired across the 'keeper and into the net.
