Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer two first team squad members to Crystal Palace in a swap deal to secure the signing of Michael Olise.
The Blues failed in their attempts to sign Olise last summer despite making a £35million offer, a bid they believed activated a complex release clause in his contract.
Chelsea renewed their interest in the attacker this week by making an enquiry to Crystal Palace.
Olise has a complicated release clause worth up to £60million in his contract, which he signed after Chelsea failed in their bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge last year.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are considering offering two players in exchange for Olise.
The report claims Trevoh Chalobah and Noni Madueke could be included by the Blues in an offer.
Chalobah made 17 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season.
The academy graduate had struggled with injuries during the first half of the campaign, but became a regular in the first team on his return in February.
Madueke similarly enjoyed a run in Chelsea's first team in the latter part of the season under former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The 22-year-old, who joined Chelsea in a £26million move in January 2023, scored goals in 34 matches in his first full season at the club.
Chalobah and Madueke are both on long-term deals at Stamford Bridge, with their contracts expiring in 2028 and 2030, respectively.
Mail Sport understands Chelsea are open to including fringe players in any deal for Olise, with Chalobah and Armando Broja considered as possible makeweights.
Manchester United are also interest in Olise, but have a limited budget to work with.
Newcastle and Bayern Munich are among the clubs also keen on Olise, but Chelsea are confident they can land their long-term target.
Olise is understood to be keeping his options open this summer but wants a swift resolution to his future before he heads to the Olympics with France next month.
Last summer Mail Sport exclusively revealed how Chelsea’s original move for Olise had unfolded amid a backdrop of ‘tapping-up’ complaints from Palace.
Chelsea submitted an offer that they believed activated Olise’s complex release clause.
However, Chelsea’s interest in the winger has aggravated Palace officials, who believe the Stamford Bridge club have crossed the line in their attempts to sign the player last summer with Palace officials communicating their concerns to Chelsea.
Palace felt that Chelsea’s potential swoop for Olise had contravened transfer rules and etiquette and was tantamount to an illegal approach.
This summer, however, Chelsea have made a formal request to discuss a potential swoop for Olise with Palace.
