Rayan Cherki will play no part in Manchester City’s Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion this Sunday after sustaining a thigh issue, reports L’Équipe.
The 21-year-old joined City from Lyon earlier this summer and has enjoyed a bright start to life in England but will miss the clash at the Amex Stadium (15:00 local time). His injury also places in doubt his availability for France’s September international window.
Cherki earned his first senior France call-up in June, impressing and scoring during his debut camp under Didier Deschamps. However, his latest setback could see him sidelined for Les Bleus’ upcoming fixtures against Ukraine in Wroclaw on September 5th and Iceland at the Parc des Princes on September 9th.GFFN | George Boxall
