Christian Eriksen 'offered to Arsenal in cut-price £12m deal from Inter Milan'

Christian Eriksen could follow the likes of Sol Campbell, William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor by having played for bitter north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

According to ESPN, the former Tottenham playmaker has been offered to Arsenal in a cut-price £12million deal from current club Inter Milan.

Eriksen only joined Inter in January from Tottenham in a £17.5m transfer, signing a four-and-a-half year deal. However, his time at the Serie A giants hasn't gone as planned so far.

The Denmark international has dropped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte - with reports earlier this month suggesting that the latter is 'disappointed' in the 28-year-old's output.

Earlier this week, Inter CEO Guiseppe Marotta suggested that the Italian giants are willing to listen to offers for Eriksen in the January transfer window too.

And ESPN claim that Eriksen's availability has been touted to Arsenal with the Dane reportedly interested in a switch to the Emirates - despite having spent seven years at Spurs.

A £12m move to Arsenal would represent a £5.5m loss for Inter on a player they only signed in January. However, the San Siro outfit are willing to make a deal at that price as they are aware of Arsenal's delicate budget after they paid the £45m release clause to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid last month. This is coupled with the vast redundancies the club have enforced on non-playing staff due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Any potential move would see Eriksen provide Arsenal with some much-needed creativity that they are currently lacking as the Mikel Arteta's side languish in 12th in the Premier League.

The move, while controversial, could reinvigorate Eriksen too after a frustrating campaign so far at Inter - having just started four times from a possible 11 games under Conte. Since joining in January, he has started just 11 Serie A matches overall.
