Isco and Marcelo are the latest players to be recovered by Zidane

Zinedine Zidane has a reputation for recovering his players' best form and the latest two examples of this are those of Isco and Marcelo.

They were two of the surprising inclusions in Tuesday night's starting line-up against Paris Saint-Germain.

Marcelo was generally expected to start over Ferland Mendy, although it was far from certain, while nobody thought Isco would be given a starring role.

Following the good overall performance, these two players have emerged from the match strengthened.

It's especially the case for Isco, who had hardly been used since starting in the debacle in Mallorca,

He responded with lots of effort, lots of skill and lots of good play, with the playmaker participating in both of Karim Benzema's goals by hitting a shot off the post for him to rebound in his first and by heading towards Marcelo to cross for the second.

Marcelo was a constant menace for the PSG defence and his attacking contribution was reminiscent of his best days, even if he wasn't always so solid in defence.

In total, the Brazilian left-back put 13 crosses into the area, which is a record for the team this season, and he touched the ball 97 times.

He tried 54 passes in the opposition half and 49 of them were completed.

Despite the criticism recently directed their way, Isco and Marcelo have shown that they've still got it and that they can be relied upon in the biggest matches.
