Pique: I'll invite Florentino, all of Madrid & Atletico players to watch tennis

Gerard Pique is working on the final details of his Davis Cup and he's said that he'll invite Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to the event.

The competition will be held in Madrid between November 18 and 24, and the Barcelona defender has no issues inviting his football rivals to watch on.

"We want to differentiate ourselves from other events so tickets will be cheap and we hope that more people will come and make it better," Pique said to COPE's El Partidazo and Radio MARCA.

"I'll invite Florentino, I'll also invite all of the Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid players.

"Football is one thing, but tennis is another."

The event falling away from Barcelona during the season could cause some logistical issues, but Pique isn't so concerned.

"It's 45 minutes from Barcelona to Madrid by plane," he explained.

"It's relatively close.

"The week before is an international break and I'll be in Madrid finalising the details.

"We play Leganes during the week, but the calendar allows me to stay and enjoy the final games."

Turning his attention back to football, Pique was asked about Spain's Thursday night win over Romania.

"I know the result and that we suffered," he said.

"The national team have been very important for me and I follow what they do.

"It's a page that I've passed. I was always excited to represent the national team, but I said I wanted to dedicate the next years of my career to my club so, for me, Barcelona is everything."
