Chelsea star Cole Palmer has revealed his superpower following his stunning rise.

Palmer, 22, is in the midst of another impressive season, with the attacking midfielder having scored 14 goals and added seven assists in 29 Premier League games.

It comes after an astonishing breakthrough campaign in 2023-24 when Palmer won the PFA Young Player of the Season award following his £42.5million move from Manchester City.

Palmer has developed into one of the best English players, while his relaxed and humble persona off the pitch has endeared him to fans.

He and his dad say his nonchalant demeanor is what separates him from other players.

Palmer's dad, Jermaine, said on Amazon's 'The New Generation': 'I think his super power is he knows it's just a game. It's just football.'

The Chelsea attacker added: 'People are different though like, some people have to take it more serious than others, not that I don't take it serious but I just try and put on a show for them.

'I just think there is 50,000 people there, they've paid money to come and watch. I try and put a but of fun into it, so that's what I try and do.

Palmer's cult status has been enhanced by his aforementioned 'cold' celebration, with the move being replicated far and wide across professional and grassroots football.

Speaking last December, he told the Men In Blazers podcast: 'It's a good feeling when I see it. 'Especially when I see random kids in random places doing it after scoring in grassroots football or something like that so it's nice.

'It feels like that (was not me not so long ago).'

Palmer returned from a three-week lay-off in Chelsea 1-0 win over Tottenham on Thursday and assisted Enzo Fernandez's winning goal.

However, his goal drought extended to eight league games having last netted against Bournemouth in January.

Palmer will seek to get back on the scoresheet when Chelsea travel to local rivals Brentford on Sunday.
