Cole Palmer has been sidelined with a groin injury for the past two months, but the Chelsea playmaker has hinted that his return to action may not be too far away
Cole Palmer has given a potential clue about his injury status as Chelsea eagerly await the playmaker's return to full fitness. Palmer has been out of action for several weeks due to a groin injury, causing the England international to miss last 11 matches for his club.
The 23-year-old's most recent game for Chelsea was against Manchester United on September 20 in the Premier League, with Palmer still recovering from the issue as the Blues entered the November international break.
Injury has limited Palmer to just four appearances for Chelsea this season, with manager Enzo Maresca eager to have the Ballon d'Or nominee back in the matchday squad as soon as possible.
Chelsea are set to return to Premier League action this weekend with an away match at Turf Moor against Burnley.
Ahead of the match, Palmer has hinted that his return from injury might not be too far off.
In an Instagram story post, Palmer shared a photo with his 8.4 million followers, showing him in the Chelsea dressing room with a caption that featured three egg timer emojis.
This could be seen as a hint that Palmer is close to making his much-anticipated return from injury for Chelsea.
Maresca has regularly updated Chelsea supporters on Palmer's progress towards full fitness, with the latest update suggesting that the playmaker could be available in the near future.
"So in this moment, we go day by day with Cole. He's [still] not taking any session with the team," Maresca said about Palmer earlier this month.
"To be honest, I would like to have Cole here tomorrow. I would like to have Cole early. I said many times that we are a better team with Cole. Unfortunately for us, he's out, he's injured, but for sure we want him back very soon."
Following their Premier League clash with Burnley, Chelsea face two crucial fixtures in both domestic and European competition.
The Blues will face Barcelona in the Champions League before welcoming Arsenal to Stamford Bridge in the English top flight a few days afterwards, with Palmer's availability for both matches yet to be confirmed.

we don't need to take risk with Cole we have other players like Estevao who is in good form.
it's not about risk, as long as he is all clear to play,he can play, left for the manager to decide how to integrate him back into the team and the amount of minutes he could play
