Sebastian Coltescu is at the heart of the Paris Saint-Germain vs Istanbul Basaksehir incident after the fourth official referred to the Turkish side's assistant coach Pierre Webo by the colour of his skin.
The match was suspended and an investigation will take place, while the Romanian referee spoke to his family about the incident in the aftermath of the game.
"I just try to be good," he said in a conversation with relatives, as reported by Romanian publication ProSport.
"I'm not going to read any news sites these next few days.
"Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not racist! At least that's what I hope."
The head referee Ovidiu Alin Hategan has not given a comment at this stage, even though he was asked for one by Europe1.fr. Instead, the official explained the need to speak with UEFA first.
Meanwhile, Ionut Stroe, the Romanian Minister for Sport, has sent "apologies on behalf of Romanian sport," according to EFE.
"We strongly condemn any expression or declaration that could be considered racist," the minster added.
"Sport is about completely different things, such as hard work, ambition and fair play.
"I hope this doesn't cause a diplomatic scandal."
Stroe also explained that measures will be taken once UEFA's investigation has concluded.

Its a small thing 😕 why is he offended if he said a nig*a fine no problem but black guy come on, that's how we realye to people who we don't know... If it was a white guy he surely would have said the same thing "THAT WHITE GUY"
as a black person. it's not racist to call a black person black. what I would like to know is what occurred leading up to him saying it.

In a black dominant areas if they call a white man white...... its a joke..... but vice versa its an act of racist...... i mean gone are those days of slavery and injustice..... just because whites did that in past doesnt mean they are still living with that mindset...... we need to differentiate between a real racist and a fake one...... or else just like some girls blackmail boys by using fake abuse thing.... it will be same..... i completely dont know what happened in the match and i will not speak on it.... but it's my opinion....

so it's now an insult to be called "the black guy" huh!... I personally have referred to white people several times as "the white guy"... lol.. I think this was all just and exagerrated misunderstanding. I don't think I'd be offended if someone calls me "the black guy"... cuz I've referred to white skinned people several times in a similar manner and it caused no harm

You're right. I have lived briefly in the West and I'm familiar with veiled references to race in comments from people who don't seemingly appear to be doing so whereas in fact, they are......WHO FEELS IT KNOWS IT.

I think we should not be that harsh towards the referee. Yes maybe saying 'the black guy' is racist to some people and for some its not. I dont think he intended to insult him or pull him down because of his color. But after this its clear that calling someone black is wrong so it should not get repeated if it hurts the sentiments of some. The referee should not be harshly judged on the basis of this. Maybe its his mistake and we should all forgive him.
