AC Milan have now confirmed the sacking of manager Massimiliano Allegri as part of a \'profound reorganization\' following their failure to qualify for Champions League football.
This is the second consecutive season AC Milan will be without Champions League football following their fifth placed finish.
Allegri’s side fell apart over the final months of the 2025-26 season, losing six, drawing one, and winning three of their final ten games
The club have now confirmed that Allegri, 58, has been sacked as part of a “profound reorganization of the Club's sporting department.”
CEO Giorgio Furlani, Sporting Director Igli Tare, and Technical Director Geoffrey Moncada have also left the club.
AC Milan’s [a href="https://www.acmilan.com/it/news/articoli/club/2026-05-25/comunicato-redbird-capital-partners"]statement[/a] reads: “After last season's disappointment, the owners' mandate for the club was clear: return to the Champions League and build the foundations for success and a consistent position at the top of Serie A.
“For much of the season, we remained in the top two of the league, with a real chance of competing for the Scudetto.
“However, the season's finale was far below the level we'd shown up to that point, and last night's disappointing defeat turned this season into an unequivocal failure.
It's time for change and a profound reorganization of the Club's sporting department. Effective immediately, the tenures at AC Milan of CEO Giorgio Furlani, Sporting Director Igli Tare, Head Coach Massimiliano Allegri, and Technical Director Geoffrey Moncada conclude.
“We extend our thanks to each of them for their work and dedication during their tenure at the Club.
“Further announcements regarding these new appointments will be made as soon as they are finalized, with the goal of having a structure in place for next season.”
