Conte insists Napoli must always be creative in transfer market

Napoli coach Antonio Conte discussed their summer market work after victory over Pisa last night.

Conte was asked about the "major" signings Napoli made, including Kevin de Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund.

He replied,  "A major transfer? We did it because we had to fill a squad that practically didn't exist. Whether it's significant or not is up to the task.

"Others already have well-structured squads; if you buy nine players, it means you've brought in half a team and you'll run into difficulties. I hear people talking about this major transfer... but it was only significant in terms of numbers.

"When you buy nine players for €150 million, that's an average of €15-20 million per player.

"Major players are different. They're different. They're worth €50, €60, €70 million. Those are major players."
