Courtois: Winning brings confidence

After winning their fourth game in a row under Santiago Solari, Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, was quick to note the associative knock-on effect to players' confidence that winning brings.

The team have only conceded twice - both against Celta - whilst scoring 15 in the same time frame.

"In previous matches, things didn't work out," he said to reporters after the game.

"We also have fortune with us, like with the ball hitting the woodwork at 0-0.

"Our quality hasn't changed, the team hasn't, but winning brings confidence."

Though there have been suggestions of problems with the goalkeepers at the club, the giant Belgian refuted those claims.

"Every day we train very well, to make it difficult for the coach to choose," he continued.

"Madrid have a lot of quality in each position, there is a lot of competition.

"People always believe that because you play and the other doesn't, we're hitting each other!

"It's not the case, we train with a lot of enthusiasm, we smile and we get along very well."

The keeper reserved special praise for Karim Benzema after a match-winning performance from the Frenchman.

"They [the media and supporters] criticise him too much because he doesn't score," he added.

"But he helps the team a lot to create chances.

"I'm very happy for him."
