Inter Milan are reportedly set to hand manager Cristian Chivu a huge new contract after his remarkable debut season.

The 45-year-old has been a remarkable success since replacing Simeone Inzaghi last summer, winning the Serie A and Coppa Italia.

According to [a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Inter/07-05-2026/inter-chivu-rinnovo-contratto-fino-al-2028-3-milioni-a-stagione.shtml"]Gazzetta dello Sport[/a], Inter’s board have been impressed by Chivu, and are keen on tying down his long-term future.

The club have placed a contract extension offer on the table that would keep him at the San Siro until the summer of 2028.

Chivu would also receive a hefty pay increase, seeing his salary rise from €2.1 million to €3 million per year.
