Real Madrid have yet to allocate Cristiano Ronaldo's old No 7 shirt to another player more than one month following his departure to Juventus.
Ronaldo left the Real Madrid No 7 shirt vacant when he joined Italian champions Juventus in a £100million move earlier this summer.
And there is much speculation in Spain about which Madrid player will take on the shirt with Spanish newspaper AS even setting up a poll on their website.
The poll asking readers to select between three options - Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior and a new signing - with the former currently leading by 56 per cent.
Whoever does end up assuming the No 7 shirt has huge shoes to fill with Ronaldo netting an incredible 450 goals across his nine-season spell in the Spanish capital.
Gareth Bale is expected to step up in his absence following a frustrating season marred by injury problems that saw him unable to break into the team consistently.
The Welshman was on the scoresheet in Madrid's La Liga opener against Getafe on Saturday evening along with right back Dani Carjaval.
That match saw Madrid's lowest home crowd since before the Ronaldo era with just 48,466 fans in attendance at the 81,000-capacity Bernabeu.
In Italy meanwhile, Ronaldo's debut for Juventus drew 2.3million viewers to Sky Italia - the fourth-highest audience in the broadcaster's history.
Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes as defending champions Juventus ran out 3-2 winners over Chievo Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi thanks to Federico Bernardeschi's late strike.

i am Madrid fan. I agree that Perez should protect number 7. but I feel that real madrid is not happy with CR7 move to Juventus, and they are trying to revenge. I hope the new number 7, score goals as CR7 did, we need titles.......

Real madrid has had many legends. Di stefano, puskas, zidane, hierro, raul, gento. But we have never retired a jersey. Do u know why? Because real madrid is the home of legends. The players who play for this club are the best of the best. And no matter how good a previous player was, there's always assurance that a better player would come. Although it is hard to believe but im hopeful we'll see a player better than cristiano doing justice to that number

Anyone following the entire Saga will agree with me that Ronaldo was almost disgraced out of RM; but his God was with him. He was treated with so much disrespect, all in the quest for Naymer the diver. I'm disappointed in the Board/President of RM. The God of Soccer will judge. Kind regards and best wishes to CR7 and his fine family.
