Joined by Ronaldo Nazario, his family, representatives and club president Florentino Perez, Vinicius defined Real Madrid as the best in the world on Friday when presented as a Blancos player.
The striker was unveiled without a shirt number and could yet be moved into the Castilla team as he adapts to life in Madrid, which he admitted may be tough.
"I know that adapting won't be easy, but I'm ready. I thank Florentino, Jose Angel [Sanchez] and [Juni] Calafat," the Brazilian told his first news conference.
"I thank my family for what they have done for me and for my dream, I will not disappoint them.
"Fortunately I was able choose from many great clubs and I chose the world's best.
"We are Real Madrid and we always want more."
Los Blancos have forked over around 40 million euros for the teenager and he is determined to live up to his price tag as soon as possible.
"It is the greatest opportunity that a player can have, I am going to sacrifice a lot to show that I deserve this opportunity," noted Vinicius.
"I come from a very simple background and I have been taught many values, now I have reached the best club in the world at only 18 years old.
"I will show my coach and colleagues that I am ready to play."

until yesteryear it was the best. once the best left for Juve Real lost bestness and surrendered it to the Old Lady. So vinicius pls don't use the term best for Real once again.

we wish him a great career ahead and we hope he will achieve his great potential in that Madrid shirt. he will be a great player if he keeps a cool head just like mbappe and Gabriel Jesus are doing in PSG and Man City respectively
