The Colombian footballer had some kind words of remembrance for Diogo, although his participation with Colombian streamers after the Portuguese player's accident was widely criticized.

Liverpool player Luis Díaz was heavily criticized after his participation in various videos by Colombian streamers following the death of his teammate Diogo Jota . The feeling he conveyed when appearing in these videos is radically different from what his words conveyed that same day when asked about the tragic accident.

"It's very hard to hear news like this; it's very sad. No one is prepared for this. He was a key teammate when I arrived at Liverpool because his family welcomed me, as did he, and we became great friends. We had a great, healthy rivalry, and it was important," Díaz said on WinSportsTV.

Luis Díaz: "When I woke up and saw the news, I really started to cry."

"I just want to wish his family , his wife, and his children a lot of strength because the truth is they must be suffering tremendously from this terrible news. It's very hard. When I woke up and saw the news, I was really in tears ," the Liverpool player continued.

" He made a very nice gesture toward me, and I will always remember that . I want to tell him to rest in peace and that I will carry a great friend in my heart, and that he will always be remembered by his team," the Colombian concluded.
