DANNY MURPHY picks out Duran's best strikes of season after winner vs Bayern

Jhon Duran has been electric coming off the bench for Aston Villa this season, bagging six goals in all competitions as Unai Emery's side continue their impressive start to the campaign.

He doesn't score tap-ins either, the Colombian has become renowned for his audacious finishes and outrageous strikes from distance.

The striker topped the lot this week as he rifled the ball past a stranded Manuel Neuer from range to give Villa a famous 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

In making the super-sub role his own, Duran has given his manager a headache, with the 20-year-old outscoring England star Ollie Watkins who remains the starting no9 for the West Midlands outfit.

West Ham (a) AUG 17

Showed great awareness here. He was deliberately offside at the start of the move but slowed down to let defenders pass him.

That made him hard to mark and he produced a fine first-time finish from Ian Maatsen's low cross.

Leicester (a) AUG 31

His first touch after coming on and a good example of his strength. As Lucas Digne's cross came in, he gives his marker Caleb Okoli an Alan Shearer-style little nudge.

It gave him that bit of space and he buried the header.

Everton (h) SEP 14

The young Colombian has shown fantastic power with his long-range shooting but this was the best example yet.

It was a wonderful strike — and capped a fabulous Villa comeback. One of the goals of the Premier League season so far.

Wolves (h) SEP 21

That word awareness again.

A young striker could easily be too keen on the break and stray a yard or two offside but Duran delayed his run until the right moment and got his reward with a tap-in.

Wycombe (a) SEP 24

A rare start for Villa's supersub — and he delivered, winning the penalty and showed the confidence of an in-form striker by sending the keeper the wrong way and firing the spot-kick into the bottom right corner.

Bayern Munich (h) OCT 2

The biggest goal of his career and one that highlighted his composure.

It would have been understandable to get flustered facing the great Manuel Neuer in such a huge match. But with the goalkeeper off his line, Duran executed his finish perfectly.
