The situation between Barcelona and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen appears to have reached boiling point in the last few days, with the club having decided to start disciplinary proceedings against their captain following his refusal for his medical report to sent to La Liga as a way for his replacement Joan Garcia to be registered.
In the case of a player’s injury being longer than four months, a club can use 80% of that player’s salary to register a replacement. Barcelona believe that Ter Stegen falls into this category, while the man himself publicly claimed that he would only be missing for three.
As a result, tensions between the two parties are very strained, and Ter Stegen’s short and long-term future in Catalonia is now incredibly bleak. But according to Andreas Rettig, sporting director of the German Football Federation (DFB), this should not be the case, as per MD.
“I would like to take into account in his dealings with him the merits and importance that Marc-André had, not only with us, but also in Barcelona. But I’m a bit biased. He is a player of our national team. Therefore, I may not be the right person to evaluate it objectively.”
Ter Stegen was replaced as Barcelona number one before the registration situation came about, with Garcia having been brought in from Espanyol. The plan was for the 33-year-old to be third-choice, also behind Wojciech Szczesny, and if this is the case when he returns from injury in November/December, he will almost certainly not be Germany’s starting goalkeeper for next summer’s World Cup.

I don't have any atom of pity for him. Bravo was just 30, and was far better in form than what we've witnessed from Stagen in last 5 seasons, yet Stagen forced him out. Steven should getat

this man cut his salary for 3years to help Barcelona financial strain. He was promised no1 spot but they have given szezny and got a new keeper now they want him to lie and say that he will be out for longer than what his record says??Who was he fighting for when he got injured, was in not for barcelona? Ungrateful bunch
Where did you read that he cut his salary for three years? Suspending salary is not the same as cutting salary. Is he a doctor to determine how long he will take to heal even before his surgery? Why did he even announce that trash without involving the club? He is designated a third choice goalkeeper so he either accept it or leave. In any case why is he refusing to leave if he thinks he is indispensable He is not bigger than Barca and should stop his arrogance

I'd larpote a doctor himself?Does he feel what ter stergen is feeling in his own body?
Will you stop spitting your nonsense everywhere? Barcelona can register all their new players without using Ter Stegen wages...Here the point is following the protocol and respecting the club... Why does he deny when shared his consent for the previous two operations? Don't be fooled with a salary deferral to forfeit...he got the extension with the club at the expense of the salary deferral and he could still negotiate the same while leaving the club gracefully instead of acting petty and childish showing his tantrums

Ter Stegen is not being fair to Barcelona. You came from a long injury and was not fit enough to be Barca’s number one so the club went for a more fit and agile keeper. If you are not happy simply leave the club after all other teams are interested in you. Now, you have gone for another surgery and you think the club should not have your medical records to make an informed decision. How did he know he will be unfit for three months even before his second surgery? Now you are playing hide and seek and think the club should be happy with you? Come on don’t be silly for no player’s interest can supersede that of the club. If he is not cooperating the club should bench him for as long as it takes.

he should accept offers from other clubs if he wants to feature in the world cup . just because of his wage he is trying to frustrate other players registration by trying to hide his doctor's report.
Barca board way of doing things is chaotic and embarrassing. This drama is what made Nico Williams to choose Bilbao. A club of that calibre shouldn't rely on injuries to register players. It took an injury to a senior player for Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to be registered last season, lesson not learnt we're watching season 2 of the same drama series

Barcelona should sack him
that'll be more expensive as they'll have to pay him a lumpsome amount remaining in his contract for breaching the contract

You guys don't seem to know the Genesis of the whole problem. The guy deferred his salary for 3 yrs. on top of it, Barca promised him he'll be no 1 when he returns and that they're only getting Szchezny for 6 months. but they've given him another contract and brought in another to make him 3rd choice when he's sacrificed that much for the club. Now you want him out and want to use dirty tactics to get him out abi? don't judge the guy if you don't know the full story..

I get that Barca board is not treating him right... but Ter Stegen is adamant that he wants to stay and fight for #1 spot, and guarantee his place in the world cup squad...Also, he can leave the club as he is getting offers from reputed clubs where he can be an undisputed starter... but what baffles me is the fact that if he is not at all near his ideal fitness, how can he be considered the #1 keeper for any squad!!!

Shut up, boy. If a coach decides a 33 yrs old GK needs to be replaced, they should not replace him? The interest of FCB must come before that of anyone else. If you don't know that then you should stop watching football
