According to a recent report by The Athletic's Ornstein, former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is also one of the managerial candidates that Wolves are still considering.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are in advanced talks with Gary O'Neill about his return as manager, but former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is also among other candidates the club is considering.
Wolves are considering a reunion with the 42-year-old O'Neill while also exploring other options, and a decision on Pereira's successor is not expected this week.
O'Neill has been unemployed since being sacked by Wolves in December 2024. He previously managed Molineux for 16 months, leading the team to a 14th-place finish in the 2023-24 season.
Erik ten Hag is also currently a free agent, having been sacked in September after three games in charge of Bayer Leverkusen. The Dutchman has been discussed within Wolves.
He managed Manchester United for nearly two and a half years, leading the team to win the League Cup and FA Cup in 2022 and 2023 respectively, but only managing a disappointing eighth-place finish in the 2022-23 Premier League season. Last October, after Manchester United had only won three of their first nine games and were ranked 14th in the league, Ten Hag was sacked and replaced by Amorim.
