Danish pub names itself after Olise, staff wear France no. 11 jerseys, receives player's approval

Olise, who is usually extremely discreet on social media, made an exception by liking a tavern in Copenhagen named after him—the staff at the establishment wore his French national team jersey with the number 11.

Olise is very inactive on social media, following only 23 accounts. Currently, only two posts are visible on his profile (he previously cleared his older posts). The Frenchman rarely engages with other users' posts. However, for a tavern in Copenhagen, Denmark, Olise made an exception and liked a collection of photos and short videos.

The reason is noteworthy: the establishment is named after Olise—and in the photos and videos, all staff members are wearing the Frenchman's national team jersey bearing his name and number 11.

"Bild" contacted the "Olise Tavern" and inquired about the naming and jersey initiative. Manager Sigurd Kjærgaard revealed: "In our tavern, every decision we make genuinely stems from appreciation or admiration for something—whether it's creating a new dish or choosing a name for our establishment. Since we all admire Michael Olise, we named our tavern after him when we opened in autumn 2025."

The tavern owner explained: "During a meeting, the spontaneous idea arose that all staff could wear Olise's jersey during World Cup matches. We also project his World Cup matches in our tavern—albeit without sound. After the World Cup, we're considering continuing this for Bayern Munich matches."

One thing is certain: Olise will always be welcome at "his own" establishment. Kjærgaard stated: "If he ever wants to visit, we will always have a seat reserved for him. We would be delighted to welcome him and hope he feels our support from Copenhagen."
